The Test Boost Blend: What SodaPeak's Label Math Reveals
SodaPeak's label lists eight ingredients in one 1,200 mg blend, most to least by weight, with no single amounts. So ingredient number k can weigh at most 1,200 divided by k: horny goat weed up to 1,200 mg, tongkat ali up to 600, down to boron chelate at 150. The real amounts are almost certainly lower, because all eight share 1,200 mg.

The panel
What does SodaPeak's Test Boost blend line actually say?
It gives one number for eight ingredients. The Supplement Facts panel reads "Test Boost Proprietary Blend 1200mg", then lists eight names beneath it with no weights.
A serving is 2 capsules, and a bottle holds 30 servings. In label order, the eight are horny goat weed extract, tongkat ali powder, saw palmetto extract, nettle root extract, wild yam extract, sarsaparilla root, orchic substance and boron amino acid chelate.
That format is legal. FDA's labeling guide lets a proprietary blend show only its total weight, as long as the ingredients are listed "in descending order of predominance by weight" (FDA labeling guide ch. IV (blends)). Individual weights are required only for nutrients with a Daily Value, and none of these eight has one.
Our Supplement Facts page shows the full panel.
The rule
How does weight order set a ceiling for each ingredient?
Each ingredient must weigh no more than every ingredient listed above it. That single rule caps how heavy any one of them can be.
Take saw palmetto, third on the list. It cannot outweigh horny goat weed or tongkat ali. So at its largest, all three weigh the same. Three equal parts of a 1,200 mg blend are 400 mg each, and that only works if the other five weigh nothing. Saw palmetto can never pass 400 mg.
The same logic works for every place in the list. The first can, in theory, be the whole blend; the eighth, at most one eighth of it.
Ceiling for the ingredient in place k = blend total divided by k. For SodaPeak, that is 1,200 mg divided by 1, 2, 3 and so on, down to 8.
There is a matching floor too. The first ingredient must weigh at least 150 mg, because eight parts that are each no larger than it could not otherwise add up to 1,200 mg.
The ceilings
What is the most each SodaPeak ingredient could weigh?
Horny goat weed could weigh up to 1,200 mg per 2 capsules, and boron chelate up to 150 mg. The table shows all eight ceilings, at the full serving and at one capsule a day, which the label also allows.
| Place | Ingredient | At most, 2 capsules | At most, 1 capsule | Amount in research or limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Horny goat weed extract | 1,200 mg | 600 mg | Sold as 250-500 mg a day; no established dose |
| 2 | Tongkat ali powder | 600 mg | 300 mg | 100-200 mg a day of standardized extract in a 12-week trial |
| 3 | Saw palmetto extract | 400 mg | 200 mg | 320 mg a day in prostate trials |
| 4 | Nettle root extract | 300 mg | 150 mg | Not published in the trial abstract |
| 5 | Wild yam extract | 240 mg | 120 mg | No useful dose |
| 6 | Sarsaparilla root | 200 mg | 100 mg | No established dose |
| 7 | Orchic substance | 171 mg | 86 mg | No reliable human data |
| 8 | Boron amino acid chelate | 150 mg | 75 mg | Upper limit 20 mg a day of boron itself |
Ceilings are the most possible, not the amount in the bottle. Research amounts: LiverTox, NCCIH and the NIH boron fact sheet.
Reality check
Why are the real amounts in SodaPeak almost certainly lower?
Because each ceiling assumes the later ingredients weigh nothing, so they cannot all be reached at once.
Add the eight ceilings together and you get about 3,260 mg. The blend is 1,200 mg. So the true amounts must, on average, sit well under a third of their ceilings.
Picture the most even split possible: eight equal parts of 150 mg each. Then tongkat ali would be 150 mg, not 600. Saw palmetto would be 150 mg, not 400. Any ingredient that weighs more than 150 mg forces others lower.
- If horny goat weed weighs 500 mg, the other seven share 700 mg.
- For saw palmetto to reach the 320 mg trial dose, the top three alone would need at least 960 mg, leaving 240 mg for five ingredients.
- At one capsule a day, every figure halves.
None of these splits is the real recipe. Only the maker knows the true weights, and the label names no maker, only the distributor Vitalifes, with no address.
What it means
What does the label math mean for SodaPeak's best-known herbs?
It means the best-studied ingredients are probably at or below study amounts. Three examples show the gap.
Tongkat ali
At most 600 mg of raw root powder. The 2021 trial used 100 or 200 mg of a concentrated extract, so the two cannot be compared mg for mg. See our tongkat ali research post.
Saw palmetto
At most 400 mg, so a 320 mg trial dose is possible but unlikely. Either way, NCCIH reports two NIH trials in which saw palmetto did no better than placebo for prostate symptoms (NCCIH: Saw palmetto).
Boron chelate
At most 150 mg of the chelate, which is boron bound to amino acids. The label does not say how much boron that holds. The adult upper limit is 20 mg of boron a day (ODS: Boron).
The name
Is SodaPeak a testosterone booster, as the Test Boost name suggests?
No. "Test Boost" is the blend's name, not a claim, and the bottle makes no testosterone claim at all. The front label's only claim is "Supports healthy muscle*", with the FDA notice that the statement has not been evaluated.
FDA rules let supplements make claims about normal body structure or function, but never claims to treat a disease (FDA: Structure/function claims). A name that hints at testosterone leaves buyers to fill the gap. No study of SodaPeak exists. One listing graphic even shows four herbs, such as ashwagandha, that are not in the Supplement Facts.
The wider evidence is thin too. A 2020 review of 50 "testosterone booster" products found that only about a quarter of their ingredients had any data showing a testosterone increase, and many had none at all (Clemesha 2020: T-booster claims).
Low testosterone is diagnosed with two morning blood tests under 300 ng/dL plus symptoms, says the Urology Care Foundation (Urology Care: Low testosterone). A blend name cannot tell you that; a doctor and a lab can.
Your next step
What should I ask before buying a proprietary blend like SodaPeak?
Ask for the missing numbers. A plain answer tells you more than any badge.
Ask for each amount
Message the seller on eBay and ask the milligrams of tongkat ali, saw palmetto and boron per 2 capsules.
Ask what the orchic substance is
The label gives no source or species for this glandular ingredient.
Ask for a lab report
Lot and certificate codes are seller references, not proof. Ask for a third-party test with a lab name.
Check your medicines
Show the full ingredient list to your pharmacist, especially if you take blood thinners or blood pressure medicine.
Bottom line
What does the label math tell you about SodaPeak?
It tells you the limits, not the recipe. Every ingredient has a hard ceiling, from 1,200 mg down to 150 mg, and the true amounts are almost certainly well under those figures. The name suggests testosterone; the bottle claims only muscle support. Judge it by the label, not the name.
FAQ
SodaPeak blend math: common questions
What is the most tongkat ali SodaPeak could contain?
At most 600 mg per 2 capsules, and very likely less. Tongkat ali is second in the 1,200 mg blend, so it cannot outweigh horny goat weed. The label prints no amount, and seven other ingredients share the same 1,200 mg.
What is a proprietary blend on a supplement label?
A proprietary blend is a named mix with one total weight and no single amounts. FDA's labeling guide requires its ingredients to be listed from most to least by weight. SodaPeak's Test Boost blend is 1,200 mg of eight ingredients.
How do you calculate the most an ingredient in a blend can weigh?
Divide the blend total by the ingredient's place in the list. Each ingredient must weigh no more than those above it, so the third of a 1,200 mg blend can weigh at most 400 mg. Real amounts are usually lower.
Does SodaPeak list its ingredient amounts?
No. SodaPeak's label gives only the 1,200 mg blend total for all eight ingredients. That is legal for herbs without a Daily Value. Ask the eBay seller for the individual milligrams if you want them before buying.
Is Test Boost a testosterone claim on the SodaPeak label?
No. The name suggests testosterone, but the bottle makes no testosterone claim, and no study of SodaPeak exists. Its only printed claim is "Supports healthy muscle".
Does SodaPeak say how much boron each serving holds?
The label does not say. Boron amino acid chelate is last in the blend, so it weighs at most 150 mg per 2 capsules, but that is the chelate, not boron alone. The adult upper limit for boron is 20 mg a day.
